The Transformation of the Great Room

When we moved in to our home we used the furniture we had. After living here three years it has transformed. The latest addition: two story curtains.

This great room has really transformed into an inviting space, but it has taken years. We have saved a budgeted and couldn't just buy new furniture to fit the space. We moved in with what we had at the previous home. I will show how the room has progressed. The newest and biggest transformation has been the addition of two story curtains. I worked with Lux Drapes to have them custom made for the east and west facing windows. They turned out better than I could have imagined. 

This was what the space looked like when we moved in. All of the furniture was from our last home. The space was big enough to need an extra couch. We also didn't have tv in here. All of this made us never use this beautiful space.

We then added the blue couch. It was upstairs in the office but thought we might use it more down here and use this space more. Next up was adding a tv. It is hidden and looks more like art work above the fireplace. A month or so ago we switched out my Facebook marketplace Restoration Hardware chairs for swivel chairs from Amazon. The chairs are $200 and we love them. We all use these chairs more. I added Overland Sheepskin pelts to the chairs for winter and to make them even more comfortable and cozy.

These last four images are where we are at today! Don't the two story curtains make it so high end? I feel it now holds up to its name: the great room. And more importantly, this has become the space we now hang out in the most. The curtains are Lux Drapes and I have a code: EDEN for 27% off site wide!! The curtains I chose were Florence Linen Blend Pleated in Ivory White. They are all my dreams come true. I will link everything at the bottom. We did buy extra strong curtain rods to hold the weight of these heavy curtains. Next up is the fireplace. It is two stories and needs a statement.
